How to fund your training year by inviting friends
If you train seriously, your cost stack grows faster than your VDOT: GPS watch (USD 200-700), power meter (USD 300-800), shoes every 500 mi (USD 150-200), race fees (USD 30-200 per race), PT when you get hurt, planning app, supplements. You stack USD 1000-3000/year easy, and that's as an amateur.
One small piece of that budget can cover itself: Vetta Trainer's Pro plan.

The ambassador program
Vetta has an ambassador program with 25% recurring commission. How it works:

3. Every friend who signs up using your code and upgrades to paid Pro gives you 25% of each of their payments while they stay subscribed.
4. Per friend on standard monthly Pro (USD 9.99): you earn USD 2.50/month, as long as your friend keeps paying.
5. You accumulate balance in USD. When you hit USD 50 minimum, you can:
- Withdraw via transfer or PayPal.
- Redeem for free Pro months (USD 9.99 = 1 Pro month).
- Donate to a cause.

How to find 4 friends
Not as hard as it sounds. If you train 5-7 days a week, you know people who train. Here's where to look:
### 1. Your training group
If you train in a road/trail/cycling group, you already have 5-15 nearby candidates. Most use Strava and plan by eye or Excel sheet. Showing them the Vetta dashboard once is enough — if it serves them, they sign up.
### 2. Race WhatsApps / Discord
Race group chats (50-200 people) are gold for this. Don't spam. When someone asks "how do you train for this?" or "what app do you use?", reply naturally: "I use Vetta Trainer, I can send my code if you want to try 7 days free: vettatrainer.com/signup?ref=YOURCODE".
### 3. Gym / club teammates
The guy who rides Sundays, the woman who runs with the club. When they see your dashboard has VDOT, ACWR, race prediction and automatic plan — the natural question is "what's that?". That's the opening.
### 4. Your own networks
Instagram, Twitter, Facebook. A single post explaining what you use and why + your code = 1-3 organic signups per month if your audience is athletes.
Three rules to not burn out
### 1. Recommend what you genuinely think works
If your friend has a human coach who builds custom plans, don't send Vetta. It's not for them. Recommending something that doesn't work lasts only once and burns you socially.
### 2. Share the code, don't force it
"I can pass you my code if you want to try 7 days free" works. "You have to use Vetta, look at my code" doesn't.
### 3. Your friend pays the same
The program doesn't make the plan more expensive for your friend. They still pay USD 9.99/month like anyone. Vetta absorbs the commission. You're not "selling them higher" — you're sharing a tool and Vetta pays for the recommendation.
What if I invite 30 friends?
If you get to 30 active paying friends, you earn USD 75/month recurring (USD 900/year). That's no longer "cover my Pro" — it's extra monthly cash that covers your new GPS watch, year's shoes, or season's race fees.
Some athletes with social audiences can reach 100-300 active friends: USD 250-750/month. At that level it's a serious parallel income.
But heads up: to get there, your recommendation has to be worth it. Vetta works best for amateur athletes training 5-7 days/week who want serious metrics without paying for a human coach. If you recommend it to your cousin who jogs twice a month, they don't stick.
